Polly Kemp “A Winning Season” Print, 1981, Signed, #162/450, Framed

Whimsical and packed with energy, “A Winning Season” is a 1981 limited edition print by American folk artist Polly Kemp, known for her charming crowd scenes and joyful slice-of-life compositions. This humorous stadium tableau captures the exuberance of game day—complete with a bustling audience, animated cheerleaders, a mid-play football scene, and even a "Go Hawks" hot air balloon overhead. Rendered in her signature folk art style, Kemp fills the piece with miniature vignettes that reward close viewing.

This print is hand-signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right, titled and numbered 162/450 in the lower left. It is double-matted and housed in a wooden frame behind glass. Kemp, active in the mid-to-late 20th century, was born in Iowa and became recognized for her playful depictions of American life. Her limited edition prints from the 1970s–1980s are increasingly collected for their nostalgic and approachable style. “A Winning Season” is a standout example of her spirited, narrative-driven work.
