Kyu‑Baik Hwang “Yellow Space” Color Etching 17/75 — Signed, Museum‑Collected Artist
A limited edition color etching on paper by celebrated Korean artist Kyu‑Baik Hwang (b. 1932), titled “Yellow Space”. Numbered 17/75, signed in pencil at lower right, and titled and numbered at lower left. This composition showcases Hwang’s signature aesthetic: a richly textured yellow field intersected by intricate black geometric forms, accented with bold red, framed by a rhythmic black‑and‑white border.
Hwang is internationally recognized for his mastery of intaglio printmaking, particularly mezzotint and etching. Educated at the École du Louvre and Atelier 17 in Paris, he has exhibited across Europe, Asia, and the United States, earning awards at major print biennials in Ljubljana, Bradford, and Florence. His works are held in the permanent collections of MoMA (New York), British Museum (London), Uffizi (Florence), Albertina (Vienna), and other prestigious institutions.
Presented in a gilt-style frame with wide mat, under glass. Professionally framed by Ron Mason’s Gallery One, Iowa City, Iowa.
