Description

Bonnie Mandoe 2020 Oil Painting — Woman in Vibrant Garden, Framed

Expressive original oil on stretched canvas by Bonnie Mandoe, signed “B. Mandoe” and dated 2020 at lower left. This richly textured composition captures a contemplative woman amidst a lush, blossoming garden. Her upward gaze and the surrounding bursts of color suggest renewal, harmony, and a deep connection to the natural world. Mandoe’s signature impasto technique creates a tactile, light-catching surface that enhances the scene’s energy and emotional resonance.

Presented in a shadow box–style frame with gold front and black sides, the work blends the grounded earthiness of the Southwest with hints of tropical vibrancy, marking her late New Mexico / early Hawaii transitional period.

About the Artist:
Bonnie Mandoe is an accomplished contemporary painter whose career is closely tied to New Mexico, where she lived and worked for over 25 years. From her restored turn-of-the-century farmhouse studio, she developed a distinctive style defined by bold impasto brushwork, vivid palettes, and compositions that often integrate figures with natural landscapes. A lifelong traveler and student of art, she studied the Old Masters in Europe before settling in the American Southwest, where the dramatic skies, adobe architecture, and desert light deeply influenced her work. Today, her paintings are held in private collections nationwide and exhibited in regional galleries, valued for their emotional depth and connection to place.

Condition:
Good overall condition with a strong, intact paint surface. Frame shows minor scuffs from handling but remains structurally sound and attractive.
