Description

Hand-Built 1970s Oak Rocking Horse with Googly Eyes

This charming rocking horse captures the whimsical spirit of vintage folk-art toys. Crafted from solid oak with a warm brown stain, it features a slatted seat, smoothly curved rockers, and a carved horse head accented with playful googly eyes and peg handles. The horse was originally made in the late 1970s by a craftsman working under the name Charter Oak, known for producing handmade oak reproductions. It was offered for sale through a Colorado store during that time, where the owner carried pieces from this maker — adding a touch of provenance and regional folk-art history to this unique piece.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with signs of use and minor wear visible with age, including light scuffing and finish wear along rocker edges. Structurally sound and ready for display or use.

Dimensions:
Overall: 24" H x 36" L x 8.5" W
