Antique Child’s Oak Roll-Top Desk & Chair – Early 20th Century
Charming early 20th-century child’s roll-top desk with matching solid oak chair, combining period craftsmanship with continued usability. Constructed with traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, the desk features a smoothly operating slatted tambour roll-top that opens to reveal three cubby compartments, a single drawer, and a pull-out writing surface extending from 7" to 13". The matching chair, also solid oak, offers sturdy construction and classic turned details, complementing the desk’s spindle leg supports. Originally designed as a child’s writing station, this petite set remains perfectly sized for a child to use today, while also appealing as a collectible, decorative accent, or display prop for period-themed interiors, photography, or boutique retail staging. Its nostalgic charm and versatility make it a delightful addition for both practical use and display.
Condition:
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Finish wear/loss in areas; wood splits noted on the bottom of the drawer and back panel of cubbies. Approximately 3" section of wood absent on right side of one cubby on the interior. Chair remains sturdy. Please review photos for details.
