(4) Vintage Unity S6 Chrome Spotlights — GE Bulbs, GM Badge, 6.5"
Offered is a charming and authentic collection of four vintage Unity Model S6 spotlights, manufactured by Unity Mfg. Co. of Chicago, Illinois—an industry leader in auxiliary lighting for American vehicles throughout the mid-20th century. These were commonly used on GM cars, trucks, and service vehicles from the 1940s into the 1950s, and are recognized today for their elegant bullet-shaped chrome housings and precision-machined construction.
Each unit is clearly marked “Model S6”, with molded or riveted metal tags reading UNITY MFG CO CHICAGO U.S.A.. Notably, one unit bears the GM crest, identifying it as an original General Motors-issued accessory—typically dealer-installed on higher-trim vehicles or fleet-use autos such as police cruisers. The GE-marked glass lenses and spotlight bulbs further affirm their period authenticity.
This set includes:
- 2 complete spotlight assemblies (one with original black Bakelite-style handle)
- 1 partial spotlight with shaft (no handle)
- 1 spotlight head only
Condition:
Good vintage condition overall with visible surface wear, scuffing, and oxidation to the chrome consistent with age. One unit has a dent on the housing. Electrical functionality is untested. One light lacks a handle, and one is head-only. Sold as shown.
