Pair of Antique Cast Iron Sad Irons — “C” Model 6, 6" Long, Rustic Finish
This pair of antique cast iron sad irons dates to the late 19th or early 20th century and offers excellent historical and decorative appeal. One piece is marked with a raised “C” inside a shield above the number “6,” identifying it as a C‑6 model, a known type from this era often weighing around 5–6 lbs. The other iron bears an indiscernible marking, but shares similar form and vintage construction. Both irons feature wedge-shaped bases and integral loop handles—designed to be heated directly on a stovetop or hearth. A standard soup can is shown in the photos for scale.
Condition:
In good condition overall, with wear consistent with age and use. Surfaces display moderate rust, oxidation, and pitting, with no visible cracks or structural issues. Markings are partially worn but legible on one piece. See photos for full detail.
Dimensions:
Iron 1: 4½ x 3½ x 6 inches
Iron 2: 4 x 4 x 6 inches
