Navajo Saddle Blanket, 1960s–70s — Handwoven Wool w/ Display Hanger
A handwoven Navajo wool textile, crafted circa 1960–1970, featuring bold serrated and stepped-diamond motifs in natural cream, brown, and black tones. While reminiscent of Two Grey Hills aesthetics, its size, weave, and layout suggest a non-regional, trade-oriented creation—likely woven at or for a Navajo trading post. The textile is made from hand-carded, handspun wool, a hallmark of traditional Navajo weaving.
Too small to have served as a saddle blanket, this piece was likely intended for decorative or light domestic use rather than utilitarian riding purposes.
Adapted for wall display, it includes a stitched sleeve and a 22" turned wood rod with finials—adding both visual appeal and mounting convenience.
Condition:
