Capodimonte Italian Porcelain Rose-Top Tureen, Expo Gift’s 969
Finely hand-modeled in Naples for Expo Gift’s Inc., this Capodimonte porcelain covered tureen (model 969) showcases the exuberant Baroque flair for which the factory is famed. A cobalt wash accentuates the high-relief basket-weave body, scrolling rocaille feet, and twin foliate handles, while platinum-lustre touches add flash to every flourish. The domed lid is crowned by three sculpted garden roses, each individually formed and tinted for striking depth. Ideal as a dining-table centerpiece, mantel display, or dramatic sideboard accent, it epitomizes mid-20th-century Italian decorative craft and remains a collectible statement piece for lovers of Capodimonte ware.
Condition
