Chinese Ink Orchid Painting ― Signed & 3 Seals, Double-Matted 32×27
This bold, calligraphic brushwork captures a clump of wild orchids (lan) springing from moist ground, each blade executed in a single, confident stroke of black ink wash on fine rice paper. A vertical inscription at upper right opens with “蘭心蕙秀” (“an orchid heart, fragrant grace”), continues with a cyclical-date line, and ends in the artist’s signature. Three vermilion chops—a rectangular colophon seal, an oval name-seal, and a square leisure-seal—add authenticating color accents and balance. The sheet is float-mounted under a double cream mat and protected by Plexiglass within a sleek black wood frame, ready to lend a serene literati elegance to any room.
Condition
Good overall: scattered light wear to frame; Plexiglass shows surface scratches and small scuffs, with a few specks of debris caught between glazing and mat. Painting itself remains clean and unmarred.
