Pair of Mid-20th Century Chokwe Carved Wood Figures – Male & Female, 11" Tall
This matched pair of mid-20th century carved wood figures originates from the Chokwe people of Angola. The male figure features an elaborate crested headdress, reminiscent of Chibinda Ilunga, symbolizing leadership and ancestral heritage. The female figure is adorned with detailed scarification and jewelry, reflecting the Chokwe's emphasis on femininity and lineage.
