Vintage Singer 301 Trapezoid Sewing Machine Case — Leather Trim, 1950s
This is a vintage Singer trapezoidal sewing machine case, originally designed for the Singer 301 and 301A models, produced in the 1950s. With its distinctive angular shape, golden yellow canvas body, and contrasting brown leather trim, this case reflects Singer's transitional styling between industrial function and mid-century elegance.
The molded ivory plastic handle and brass-tone latches are signature design elements for this era. Inside, the floral-patterned paperboard lining and bracket mounts confirm it was tailored to hold a Singer portable, most notably the 301—a machine affectionately dubbed the “Featherweight’s big sister” for its durable, aluminum-bodied construction. The following is for the case only; the Singer sewing machine is not included.
