Stella Teller Isleta Pueblo Pottery Bowl — Signed, Traditional Design
This hand-coiled pottery bowl was created by Stella Teller (b. 1929), a distinguished potter from the Isleta Pueblo in New Mexico. Signed clearly on the underside “Stella Teller, Isleta, N. Mex.”, this compact vessel features traditional black-on-cream Pueblo geometric motifs with a warm buff rim, all painted with striking clarity.
Teller is a fourth-generation potter known for preserving and evolving Pueblo ceramic traditions. Her work blends ancestral methods with her personal artistic style, and she is widely celebrated for her storyteller figures and hand-formed vessels. This piece reflects that same commitment to craftsmanship and cultural heritage, executed with balance and refinement.
This signed bowl is ideal for collectors of Native American art or admirers of traditional Southwest pottery. Stella Teller’s works have been featured in national museum collections and exhibitions, and she was awarded the Eric and Barbara Dobkin Fellowship at the School for Advanced Research in 2001.
