Vallo Acoma Pueblo Pot – Traditional Hand-Painted Geometric Motifs
This compact yet striking hand-painted ceramic pot is signed by Vallo of Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico—part of a respected family of Native American potters known for preserving traditional methods. Rendered in bold black, white, and rust-red pigments, the pot features classic Acoma designs including fine-line hatching, stepped motifs, and radiating leaf patterns.
Created from natural clay and traditionally fired, the piece reflects the hallmarks of Acoma artistry: precise linework, strong contrast, and a harmonious form. The underside is clearly signed “Vallo, Acoma N.M.”—possibly linking it to the noted Vallo family, which includes artists such as Leland, Jay, Nathaniel, and Adrian Vallo, each known for distinct interpretations of Pueblo ceramic traditions.
