Description

42" Flagstone Slab with Quail Carving — Turquoise, Onyx & Carnelian Inlay

This hand-engraved flagstone slab features a richly detailed Southwestern scene, showcasing a quail family motif alongside a radiant sun symbol crafted in gemstone inlay. The sun design includes a central turquoise cabochon, surrounded by polished onyx and carnelian stones, arranged in a stylized burst pattern. The quail figures—carved with expressive forms and etched detail—march across the left half of the stone, rendered in warm, earthy tones that harmonize with the natural sandstone. The top serves as a striking decorative accent or tabletop, and craftsmanship reflects influences from Southwestern Native American design, with emphasis on symbolism and natural materials.

Condition:
In good condition overall, with wear consistent with use. There are visible scratches, water spots, and staining, primarily on the left side of the flagstone. The inlaid turquoise, onyx, and carnelian stones are intact and securely set. Surface variations are typical of natural stone and do not detract from the visual impact.

Dimensions:
Dimensions: 1.5 x 42.75 x 21.5 inches
Weight: 90 lbs
