Description

Antique Double-Sided Oak Display Cabinet

This antique double-sided oak display cabinet, dating to the early 20th century, was likely crafted for retail use in a haberdashery or general store. Featuring paneled glass doors on both front and back, each secured with a traditional hook latch, the cabinet opens to reveal five removable wooden shelves with evenly spaced grooves—suggesting it once organized spools of thread, embroidery floss, or similar merchandise with vertical dividers. Constructed from solid oak, it retains its original glass panels and showcases a warm, aged patina. While the hinge screws appear to be more recent replacements, the cabinet maintains its authentic vintage character. Its compact size and functional design make it an ideal piece for collectors of sewing antiques or as a distinctive organizer for modern crafting supplies.

Condition:
In good antique condition with minor surface wear and light marks consistent with age and use. The glass panels are original and intact. Doors open smoothly and latch securely. The cabinet exhibits slight wobbling, and the hinge screws have been replaced in more recent times. Please refer to photos for a detailed view.
