Genoveva Sandoval Signed Olla – Casa Grande Style Pottery, Geometric Design
Striking hand-crafted olla by Genoveva Sandoval, a recognized artist working in the Casas Grandes (Mata Ortiz) ceramic tradition of northern Mexico. This rounded vessel features meticulously hand-painted geometric motifs in black and russet tones over a natural terracotta base. A textured band of impressed indentations encircles the upper shoulder, adding dimension and traditional craftsmanship.
Sandoval is part of the revival movement inspired by the ancient Paquimé (Casas Grandes) culture, known for its bold polychrome pottery. Her work adheres closely to these aesthetic principles, with repeating heart-like and triangular forms arranged in rhythmic symmetry. Signed on the underside and affixed with a Casa Grande retail label. Includes a black pottery ring base for secure display.
