French 19th-Century Butcher’s Table — Marble Top, Wrought Iron Scroll Base
This authentic 19th-century French butcher’s table (table de boucher) features a white marble top and an ornate wrought iron base with signature scrolling and brass medallions. Originally used in butcher shops for preparing meats, its solid marble top and decorative ironwork make it equally striking as a kitchen island, console, or garden accent today. The marble top has a visible 4-inch crack extending to the edge and a 4-inch surface scratch, along with age-typical edge nicks. The wrought iron base displays an aged patina with surface rust and oxidation, and its feet are simply formed, reflecting the table’s utilitarian heritage. Exceptionally heavy and sturdy, this piece brings timeless French craftsmanship and rustic charm to any interior. A standout statement for vintage-inspired spaces.
Condition:
In good antique condition with visible age-related wear. The marble top has a old, tight and stable 4" crack that extends to the edge (as shown in photos), and minor edge wear. The wrought iron base shows consistent surface rust and oxidation throughout, with crude, functional feet in line with its working purpose. Brass accents have tarnish. Please examine all photos carefully.
