WWII U.S. Army Metal Footlocker — Stamped “J. H. GARRISON R.A. 16267041” with Removable Tray
This is a genuine WWII-era U.S. Army metal footlocker trunk, showcasing authentic military history and honest use. Its rugged steel body is painted navy blue and shows a timeworn patina with scratches, scuffs, minor dents, and worn edges — classic evidence of wartime and postwar service.
Inside the lid, a clear rectangular ink stamp reads:
“J. H. GARRISON R.A. 16267041”
This stamp identifies the original soldier-owner as J.H. Garrison, a Regular Army enlistee. His eight-digit service number, 16267041, is consistent with enlistment during the early 1940s WWII mobilization period. Such original issue stamps were standard Army practice and confirm this trunk’s authenticity as issued gear — not a generic surplus piece.
The trunk retains its original olive drab removable tray with divided compartments for organizing gear or personal effects. Rugged side handles and front latches are intact and function well; the front hasp is ready for securing with your own padlock (padlock not included).
