Description

Antique Wrought Iron Rooster Weathervane — 19th C. Folk Art, 42"

This antique wrought iron weathervane features a classic rooster silhouette atop ornate scrollwork and directional elements, exemplifying 19th-century American folk art. Crafted from hand-forged iron, it reflects the utilitarian artistry of rural artisans who created both functional and decorative pieces for barns and homes. The rooster, a symbol of vigilance, was a popular motif, often adorning church steeples and farm structures.

Measuring approximately 42 inches in width and 38 inches in height, this piece showcases the rustic charm and craftsmanship of its era. Despite signs of age and wear, it remains a captivating decorative artifact, ideal for collectors or as a unique garden feature.
