16" Tang-Style Sancai Glazed Ceramic Horse — Hand-Painted
A large Tang-style sancai-glazed ceramic horse, hand-painted in the traditional palette of green, amber, and ivory over a finely crackled surface. Crafted in the style of Tang Dynasty equestrian figures, this striking sculpture stands tall with flared nostrils, bowed head, and an arched neck, evoking the elegance and strength of imperial steeds.
Decorative floral medallions accent the body, complemented by a vivid green saddle and amber-glazed mane and tail. The piece features intentional crazing throughout, characteristic of Tang revival ceramics, and is finished with expressive brushwork and color blending.
Condition:
In good condition with expected wear. Displays intentional crazing to the glaze and some minor fading to the finish. Both ears show minor rough areas, consistent with age or handling. No visible cracks or repairs. Overall, presents well.
Dimensions:
Height: 16"
Length: 18"
Depth: 4 1/2"
Weight: 5 lbs 6.5 oz
(Please note: soup can shown for scale in photos)
