Pair Hand-Painted Canton Famille Rose Porcelain Vase Lamps
A charming pair of mid-20th-century Chinese Canton Porcelain vase lamps, beautifully hand-painted in the classic famille rose palette. Each porcelain body features lush peony blossoms, graceful songbirds, and a symbolic phoenix, all rendered in vivid enamels with meticulous detail. Both vases are marked “C.P. 21” on the underside, indicating Canton Porcelain, a known export mark used by Chinese workshops producing decorative wares for Western markets during the 1950s–1960s.
The vases are securely mounted on carved wooden bases and topped with elegant black fabric shades, silk-lined for a refined glow and finished with ivory trim. Each lamp is fitted with a three-way switch for adjustable lighting. This pair blends traditional Chinese artistry with practical function, serving as an eye-catching accent in living rooms, bedrooms, or studies.
Condition
In good vintage condition, showing light wear and minor scuffs throughout, consistent with age. The porcelain bodies are free from cracks or significant chips. One finial is missing its decorative Chinese character on top. Shades remain clean with some typical handling marks. Wiring and three-way switches appear operational but should be inspected or updated for modern safety standards. Please see photos for detailed condition.
