Sentry Valueguard 1380 Safe — 150 lb Steel
Offered here is a Sentry Valueguard 1380 fire-resistant safe, manufactured by John D. Brush & Co. Inc. of Rochester, New York. This vintage safe features a mechanical combination lock with the combination included, along with a horizontal handle on a two-tone door panel. It is built from steel and designed for home or office use. The safe is UL Classified to provide fire resistance for up to one hour at 1700°F (927°C), keeping the internal temperature below 350°F to protect paper documents during high-heat events. It has also passed explosion hazard and drop-impact tests to simulate structural collapse scenarios. The safe is finished in beige enamel and weighs approximately 150 pounds, with a boxy form and rounded corners typical of late 20th-century fire safes. The interior includes a single compartment lined in steel, with a clear interior depth and width suitable for documents, small valuables, or media. Instructional and identification labels remain intact on the door interior. A can of Campbell’s soup is pictured to offer a visual size reference.
Condition: Good overall with full working functionality. The locking mechanism has been tested and operates as intended. Scuffing is visible throughout, with signs of oxidation along the back and lower front edge. The interior is clean with some surface marks. See photos for detail.
