Pair of Antique Stoneware Jugs — Two-Tone and Beige with Cork
This lot features two early 20th-century American stoneware jugs, both showcasing traditional craftsmanship. The first jug displays a classic two-tone design with a dark brown upper section over a beige body, a style commonly associated with utilitarian vessels of the era. The second jug is uniformly beige and retains its original cork stopper, indicating its historical use for storing liquids like whiskey or cider. Both jugs are unmarked, which was typical for many regional potters of the time. These pieces are not only functional but also serve as charming decorative accents for rustic or farmhouse settings.
Condition
In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. The beige jug has a visible crack but remains stable and displays well. The two-tone jug exhibits glaze wear and some crazing, particularly near the shoulder area. Please refer to the photos for detailed views of these characteristics.
