Pair of Hand-Turned Bowls – Red Oak & Norfolk Pine
Offered as a pair, these hand-turned wooden bowls present a compelling study in natural contrast and skilled craftsmanship. Each bowl is formed from a different species—Red Oak and Norfolk Pine—highlighting the unique character of their grain, tone, and organic features.
The Red Oak bowl features tight, linear grain with light spalting and a warm, amber-toned finish. It bears a carved foot and is marked “Red Oak” on the underside. The Norfolk Pine bowl displays dramatic knot clusters with resinous inclusions radiating from the center, set against golden hues and a soft, satin finish. Its shape is slightly deeper, emphasizing the natural growth rings in a striking radial pattern.
Together, these bowls exemplify the artistry of traditional woodturning. Whether displayed as sculptural accents or used as vessels for dry goods, they offer tactile warmth and rustic elegance to any interior.
Condition:
In very good condition overall. Light surface wear and small natural fissures around the Norfolk Pine knots are present but stable. No cracks or repairs. Smooth finishes throughout. See photos for detail.
