Mexican Pottery Set, Hand Painted — Ken Edwards & Teresa Durán
A beautiful 14-piece set of hand-made and hand-painted Mexican pottery, signed by notable artisans Ken Edwards and Teresa Durán. Representing regional studios in Tonalá, Veracruz, and Xochiquetzal, this collection features a cohesive blend of traditional craftsmanship and decorative artistry.
The pieces include plates, saucers, bowls, cups, and a lidded sugar bowl, all adorned with expressive motifs—birds, blossoms, and foliage—in earth-toned glazes over creamy, speckled stoneware. Signatures such as “KE, Tonalá Mexico”, “KE, Veracruz Mexico”, and “T.D. Xochiquetzal Mexico”.
Ken Edwards, a celebrated American potter, established his workshop El Palomar in Tonalá during the 1960s, producing refined stoneware that remains highly collectible. The three plates marked T.D. Xochiquetzal are attributed to Teresa Durán, a respected ceramicist known for her contributions to Mexican studio pottery and her association with the Xochiquetzal studio tradition.
An exceptional grouping for display or use, this set offers both cultural depth and collectible value.
