Vintage Corning Ware Amana Blue Colonial House Browning Skillet – With Lid
This vintage Corning Ware browning skillet was specifically designed for use with the groundbreaking Amana Radarange microwave oven in the 1970s. Identified by its maker mark on the base, this skillet was made from Corning's patented Pyroceram—a glass-ceramic material engineered to handle extreme heat and microwave energy.
The skillet features the classic Colonial House blue motif on a white body, with a slightly footed base and a treated underside that enabled browning and searing in early microwave technology. These dishes were a technological innovation of their time, allowing home cooks to crisp and brown meats, casseroles, and more—tasks traditional microwave-safe dishes couldn’t achieve.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with some wear from regular use. The surface shows minor marks typical of age and handling. No chips or cracks. The glass lid is present and fits well.
