Hazel Atlas 8oz Rabbit Bottle AZ 2-6 & E.W. Hoyt Rubifoam Glass Bottle
This vintage glass bottle pair includes a charming 8 oz. nursery bottle marked “AZ 2–6,” attributed to Hazel Atlas and likely produced between the 1930s and 1950s. Embossed with rabbits on both sides and graduated in ounces, it features a squared shape with rounded shoulders—an iconic design from mid-20th century American glassware.
The second piece is a 4" embossed glass bottle for “Rubifoam for the Teeth,” produced by E.W. Hoyt & Co. of Lowell, Mass., a brand first introduced in 1887. This example, likely from the 1890s to 1910s, displays crisp embossed lettering and a subtle pink solarization from age, indicating pre-1915 glassmaking techniques using manganese.
Together, these bottles offer strong crossover appeal for collectors of antique nursery items, early advertising, and apothecary glass. Display them as conversation pieces or add them to a specialized vintage glass collection.
Condition:
In good overall condition. The Rubifoam bottle has a 3/8" rim chip, internal mineral deposits, and light exterior wear. The Hazel Atlas rabbit bottle is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and well-defined embossing.
