Description

Reproduction 31" Naval Cutlass Sword — Brass Guard

This is a reproduction naval cutlass-style sword, modeled after 19th-century maritime weapons such as the U.S. Model 1840 Naval Cutlass. It is stamped "China" at the ricasso, indicating modern manufacture, and is well-suited for historical display, reenactment, or theatrical use.

The sword features a 25-inch unsharpened steel blade with a slight curve, paired with a brass half-basket guard and leather-wrapped handle. The grip is detailed with a spiral brass wire wrap, and the domed pommel adds balance and historical character to the piece.

Specifications:

  • Overall Length: 31 inches
  • Blade Length: 25 inches
  • Blade Material: Steel, unsharpened
  • Handle: Leather-wrapped with brass wire
  • Guard & Pommel: Solid brass

Condition:
In fair condition, showing age-appropriate cosmetic wear consistent with storage and handling. The blade has never been sharpened, and there are light surface marks and patina on the brass components. The grip is intact and secure.
