Spanish-Made Katana-Style Sword with Wrapped Handle & Wood Sheath
This is a decorative katana-style sword marked "Made in Spain," featuring a mirror-polished, unsharpened blade with a visible temper line. The handle is traditionally wrapped in ivory-colored cord over dark ray-skin-style inlay, revealing ornate metal menuki beneath. The silver-toned tsuba and pommel are richly detailed with engraved motifs, adding a ceremonial flair. A tassel is affixed to the kashira, and the sword comes with a curved wooden saya finished in a warm reddish tone, accented by silver metal mounts and functional leather suspension straps. A visually striking piece ideal for display or theatrical use, blending Eastern design with Spanish craftsmanship.
Condition
In good condition overall, with moderate surface wear and scuffing visible on both the blade and sheath. The blade is unsharpened and decorative. The cord wrap remains tight, and fittings are intact. Light tarnishing is present on metal elements consistent with age.
