Vintage galvanized steel gasoline can by Dutton-Lainson Co., a company established in 1886 and based in Hastings, Nebraska. This bold industrial piece is finished in red paint and features a ribbed body design with a wide angled pour spout. The lid is stamped "J&L Ware", indicating likely manufacture by Jones & Laughlin Steel Co., a known U.S. steel producer.
A circular paper label on the lid reads “Dutton Lainson Co., Since 1886,” offering both branding and historical context. It retains its original wood-grip swing handle and steel construction throughout. The piece was previously used for gasoline and exhibits authentic wear that adds to its visual appeal.
