Description

Original 19th-Century Victorian Cast Iron Hall Tree – White Finish, Umbrella Stand, c.1880s

An authentic Victorian-era cast iron hall tree, dating to the late 19th century (circa 1880s), distinguished by its ornate Rococo Revival styling and original period construction. This rare, non-reproduction piece features elaborate scrollwork, floral embellishments, and a central oval frame—originally fitted with a mirror, now absent—surrounded by tiered double hooks for coats and hats.

The lower section includes dual umbrella holders and a removable cast drip pan base with stylized claw feet, retaining its black-painted finish. Cast in solid iron and finished in old white paint, this hall tree reflects the high decorative tastes of the Victorian period and was likely intended for a formal entry or reception room in a well-appointed home.

Materials & Features:

  • Original 19th-century cast iron (not a reproduction)
  • White painted finish with authentic wear and age patina
  • Mirror frame present; original mirror missing
  • Umbrella holders and ornate drip tray are included

Dimensions:
73" H x 26" W x 11" D
Weight: 80 lbs

Condition

Good antique condition. Surface wear, flaking paint, and oxidation are consistent with age and enhance the piece’s authentic patina. Some minor hook bending; mirror is missing. Structurally stable with no breaks or repairs observed. A genuine survivor from the Victorian era.
