This is a stunning Kodak Vigilant Six-16 folding camera, produced by Eastman Kodak between 1939 and the late 1940s. Designed during the golden age of American industrial design, the Vigilant Six-16 combines functionality with striking Art Deco styling. Its streamlined form, textured leatherette body, and gleaming chrome accents showcase the elegance and efficiency prized in pre-war and wartime consumer goods.

The camera features a Kodak Anastigmat 126mm f/4.5 lens and a No. 2 Kodamatic shutter with five speed settings up to 1/200 second, plus “B” and “T” modes. It includes dual viewfinders (eye-level and waist-level), a self-timer, and a single-action folding mechanism. Built to use Kodak 616 roll film, it produces large, richly detailed 2½ × 4¼ inch negatives—making it a favorite among both amateur photographers and design-conscious collectors of its era.

Visually, this model stands out for its compact form when folded and its dramatic bellows extension when in use. The chrome struts, rounded corners, and clean typography give it a sculptural presence. Condition

In excellent, like-new condition. The camera appears near unused, with intact bellows, clean lens elements, and well-preserved exterior surfaces. The leatherette remains crisp and dark, with no peeling or cracking. Chrome fittings are bright with minimal handling wear. The original Kodak box is present and shows only light edge wear from storage.
