Kodak Colorburst 50 Instant Camera in Original Box – 1970s Vintage
Released in 1978, the Colorburst 50 was among Kodak’s last attempts at competing in the instant camera market before being forced out by Polaroid’s successful patent lawsuit in 1986. The camera’s bold branding and vibrant packaging reflect the color-focused marketing of the late ’70s. This model was part of Kodak’s response to Polaroid’s dominance in the instant photography market and features a built-in flash mount, motorized print ejection, and automatic exposure control.
Physical Characteristics:
The camera features a matte black plastic body with the iconic “Colorburst” logo in a rainbow spectrum across the front. The lens housing includes a light/dark exposure adjustment, viewfinder, and flash socket compatible with Kodak’s Flipflash and Instant Flash Model C. The camera ejects prints from the front slot and uses Kodak PR10 instant print film (no longer produced). The camera is housed in an eye-catching yellow, blue, and orange retail box with stylized striping and bold graphics.
