Kodak Brownie Reflex 20 Camera Outfit in Box w/ Flash, Bulbs & Manual
The Brownie Reflex 20 was introduced by Eastman Kodak in April 1959 and discontinued in January 1966. It was manufactured in Rochester, NY, with some units assembled in the UK from 1960–1965. This model represents one of the final iterations in the iconic Brownie line, a series that helped democratize photography throughout the 20th century. This Kodak Brownie Reflex 20 Outfit, produced between 1959 and 1966, is a complete vintage camera kit housed in its original illustrated retail box. The set includes the Brownie Reflex 20 twin-lens reflex camera, detachable flash unit, M-2 flashbulbs, AA-style penlite batteries, Kodak film box, strap, and instruction manual, all presented in a fitted, graphic-lined interior tray.
Physical Characteristics:
The camera features a black molded plastic body with a silver-tone aluminum faceplate, reflecting the Streamline Moderne design aesthetic popular in mid-century American products. It includes a large, bright waist-level viewfinder with a folding metal hood, a fixed meniscus lens (approximately f/11), and a single-speed rotary shutter (~1/50s). Exposure values are marked as EV13 to EV15, estimated to correspond to f/11 to f/22 settings. The camera uses zone focusing with three labeled ranges: Close-ups (4–6 ft), Groups (6–12 ft), and Scenes (12 ft to infinity). It takes 620 roll film, producing twelve 6x6 cm exposures per roll. Flash sync is via dual pin and screw terminals compatible with Kodak’s external flash units.
Condition Overview:
Excellent overall. Camera and accessories appear near new and are untested. Box and packaging are complete with typical exterior wear from storage. The molded plastic interior tray is cracked but remains structurally intact and holds all components securely.
