3 Kodak Instant Cameras – 2 Pleaser & 1 Handle – Vintage Lot, 1977–1982
This lot includes three original Kodak instant cameras from the company’s short-lived foray into instant photography, produced between 1977 and 1982. Included are two “Pleaser” models and one “The Handle” (EK2) — all proudly Made in the USA.
The Pleaser cameras feature a tan plastic body, textured brown lens housing, and vivid orange-and-silver aluminum faceplates with Kodak branding. They use Kodak PR10 instant film and offer a simple user interface with exposure control (“Lighten/Darken”) and manual film ejection via a crank.
The Handle camera — a variation of the Kodak EK2 — offers a more contemporary off-white and black casing with a distinctive blue faceplate, built-in battery test button, and matching exposure dial. It also uses PR10 film and manual ejection.
These models represent Kodak’s attempt to rival Polaroid’s dominance in instant photography, a venture that ultimately ended in legal disputes and production shutdowns. Today, they serve as highly collectible display items or restoration projects for vintage tech enthusiasts.
Condition:
All three cameras appear in good cosmetic condition, showing minor scuffs, surface wear, and age discoloration, consistent with vintage display and light use. No signs of cracking or structural damage. Shutters, dials, and lenses appear intact, but functional status is untested. Sold as-is for display or collection.
