Hand-Carved Duck Decoy Trio – Whittemore, Bass Pro Shops

This distinctive set of three hand-carved and painted wooden duck decoys showcases a blend of American folk artistry and international craftsmanship:

Don Whittemore Decoy: Signed and numbered "No. 5" by Don Whittemore of Phillips, Maine, dated November 1991. Whittemore, a lifelong hunter and outdoorsman, is known for his detailed carvings reflecting Maine's rich waterfowl traditions .
Bass Pro Shops Decoy: Features a felted base marked "Handcrafted for Bass Pro Shops." These decoys were often produced in the U.S. during the late 20th century, reflecting the brand's commitment to quality hunting gear .
Taiwanese Decoy: Bears a label stating "Made in Taiwan Republic of China." Such markings were commonly used from the 1960s through the 1980s to distinguish Taiwanese exports from those of mainland China .

Each decoy exhibits unique hand-painted details and craftsmanship, making them ideal for collectors or as rustic decorative pieces.

Condition

Good overall, with wear consistent with age and display use. Notable details include natural wood splitting and finish wear on one decoy, and a personalized inscription dated 1994 on another.
