Description

Wedgwood “Flaxman” 71-Piece Dinner Set – 1924, Floral Basket Design

Offered here is a charming 71-piece dinnerware set by Wedgwood, marked "Wedgwood Etruria England", with several pieces also stamped "Flaxman" and dated to a U.S. Patent of October 7, 1924. These authentic factory markings confirm early 20th-century production from Wedgwood's renowned Etruria works.

The "Flaxman" name pays homage to John Flaxman, a famed neoclassical sculptor and longtime designer for Wedgwood during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. This pattern features a vivid floral basket motif in warm reds, oranges, and yellows, framed by a crisp dotted lattice border. Each piece rests on softly scalloped cream-toned earthenware, showcasing the refined artistry of British ceramic tradition.

The set includes a full range of dining ware—plates, bowls, cups, and service pieces—ideal for entertaining or display. Pattern code A7236 and additional factory marks such as “V” and “4DA” are present on various items.

A true reflection of Wedgwood’s historic elegance and craftsmanship—perfect for collectors or vintage tableware enthusiasts.
