Roseville Apple Blossom Vase 381-6 — Russet Matte Glaze, 1940s USA
A classic example of mid-century American art pottery, this Roseville Pottery vase is part of the beloved Apple Blossom line, introduced circa 1948–49. Mold number 381-6, it is marked "Roseville USA 381-6" on the base, confirming its authenticity. This version features a deep russet matte glaze, enriched by a raised yellow apple blossom motif with green leaves and pink buds.
The vase stands out with its softly flared cylindrical neck and rounded lower body, flanked by stylized, tree-branch inspired handles that are both decorative and functional. The hand-applied floral relief and matte finish are hallmarks of Roseville's transition into more organic, naturalistic styles in the post-war era.
Highly collectible, the Apple Blossom line was produced in several glazes (green, blue, and pink/russet), with this rich rust-pink tone being among the more desirable. It makes a charming display piece or thoughtful gift for collectors of American ceramics.
