17" Hand-Carved Wood Crucifix with Gilt Corpus
This wall crucifix features a hand-carved wooden cross with a deeply grained surface and notched accents at each end. Mounted at the center is a finely cast and gilded corpus of Christ, executed in a traditional pose with subtle drapery and expressive detail. The INRI plaque above is also rendered in gilt metal, affixed just above the crossbeam. The back of the cross retains a single hanging hole for wall display. The corpus is finished in gold leaf paint. The wooden portion has aged gracefully, showing signs of hand tooling and patina consistent with devotional use.
Condition
In good condition with light scratches, and finish loss. The corpus is securely mounted with no repairs noted. Back of the cross is loose.
