His work frequently featured the Organ Mountains, the Mesilla Valley, and scenes along the Rio Grande, capturing both the geological drama and the serene stillness of the region.
Groves exhibited widely throughout New Mexico, with many of his pieces shown and sold through his own gallery in historic Old Mesilla.
