Description

Franciscan Desert Rose Gravy Boat & Butter Dish – Hand-Painted, USA-Made

A beautifully matched pair in the timeless Desert Rose pattern by Franciscan, featuring a hand-painted gravy boat with integrated underplate and a domed butter dish adorned with a sculpted rosebud finial. This iconic American design, introduced in 1941 by Gladding, McBean & Co., showcases vivid pink blossoms, leafy green accents, and a warm ivory glaze with brown vine-textured trim.

These pieces were made in the USA, likely between the 1940s and early 1980s, before production moved abroad. The gravy boat’s flowing form and the butter dish’s sculpted floral knob exemplify the detailed craftsmanship and enduring charm of this California pottery line.
