Description

Navajo Doll

This beautifully handcrafted Navajo cloth doll blends traditional materials and detailed artistry. Dressed in a deep navy velvet blouse and a full floral skirt, the figure is accessorized with a silver-tone stamped tin concho belt and colorful beaded jewelry. Her face is delicately hand-painted, giving her a serene expression with rosy cheeks and fine brushwork.

The doll features leather hands and what appears to be real human hair, styled traditionally. Green beaded earrings and red-and-white necklaces add cultural texture to the ensemble. The skirt’s pattern is rich with stylized blossoms in coral and yellow on a muted blue background, echoing Navajo influences in contemporary textile choices.

A unique and expressive example of Native American folk art, this piece stands out for its mix of materials, sculptural presence, and painterly details.
