Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet LP – PS 539, 1968 London Blue Label Stereo
Original 1968 U.S. stereo pressing of Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones, released by London Records (catalog PS 539). This early issue features the withdrawn “RSVP-style” cream-colored gatefold cover, created after the original graffiti-themed artwork was rejected by the label. The record is pressed on the deep blue London Stereophonic label and includes the sought-after fold-out insert depicting a lavish medieval-style banquet scene with the band.
Regarded as a turning point in the Stones’ career, this blues-infused album was produced by Jimmy Miller and includes iconic tracks such as “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Street Fighting Man,” and “Salt of the Earth.” Recorded at Olympic Studios, all songs were penned by Mick Jagger and Keith Richard. Early pressings like this one are prized by collectors for their audio quality, label details, and complete packaging.
A cornerstone of 1960s rock and an essential piece for any serious vinyl collector.
Condition
In good condition overall. The gatefold sleeve exhibits visible toning, light surface wear, and minor edge rubbing consistent with age. The vinyl, however, is in excellent condition with no visible scratches or warping. Labels are crisp and clean. The original promotional inner sleeve and full-color banquet photo insert are included and intact.
