Description

The Beatles “Help!” LP – Capitol MAS-2386 Mono, Rainbow Label, Gatefold

This is a U.S. mono pressing of Help! by The Beatles, released on Capitol Records (MAS-2386) as the official motion picture soundtrack to their 1965 film. Unlike the UK version, this Capitol edition uniquely blends Beatles songs with orchestral score pieces by Ken Thorne, making it a distinctly American release.

This copy features the iconic Capitol “rainbow ring” label and comes housed in a vibrant gatefold jacket with film stills and promotional text. Track highlights include “Help!,” “Ticket to Ride,” “The Night Before,” and “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away.” The label credits and layout suggest this is a later mono pressing from the mid-to-late 1960s.

Collectors note that early pressings of this album omit Ken Thorne's name on certain tracks—later pressings like this one include the full credits. Depending on runout etchings, this may be from Capitol’s Los Angeles, Scranton, or Winchester plant—each variant sought for its distinct mastering.

A nostalgic and collectible piece that captures The Beatles’ mid-60s transition from pop icons to cultural legends.

Condition:

Good condition overall. Vinyl shows minor scratches and surface wear from use but remains playable. Labels are clean. The gatefold sleeve displays light wear to the bottom right corner and some interior spine wear. Original inner sleeve is not present. A solid vintage copy with classic shelf appeal.
