“Hot Desert” Giclée on Ceramic by Maria & Miro Kenarov — Canvas on Clay
“Hot Desert” (#CT-C-02) is a dynamic mixed-media ceramic art tile by Maria & Miro Kenarov, known for their collaborative “Canvas on Clay” technique. This vibrant piece features a giclée print on canvas depicting blooming prickly pear cacti, mounted onto a handcrafted ceramic tile with a textured, earth-toned frame. The richly colored composition draws from the artists’ “Blooming Desert” series, inspired by the Southwestern landscape.
The piece is signed with the Kenarovs’ distinct “AKK” monogram lower right and stamped on the verso confirming authenticity. Pen writing on the back notes “2 1/8",” possibly referencing series or placement notes. A built-in mounting wire makes this piece ready to hang upon arrival.
Maria & Miro Kenarov, originally from Bulgaria and now based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, are known for their signature blend of fine art printmaking and ceramic craftsmanship. Their work is collected for its vibrant palette, tactile surfaces, and desert-inspired themes.
