Description

Primitive Milking Stool w/ Forged Iron Bracing — 1.5" Thick Seat

This early 20th-century primitive milking stool features a solid 1 1/2-inch thick octagonal seat and robust 1 1/4-inch square legs, all joined with original forged iron cross-bracing. Built for durability and daily use, the stool showcases traditional hand-crafted construction with exposed rivets and tool marks throughout. Its rustic form and honest wear make it a compelling example of vernacular furniture from a working farm setting.

The wood is richly patinated with paint splatter, scattered nail holes, and surface scuffing, all consistent with its utilitarian past. Visible chips and distress enhance its visual character, while the iron stretcher remains strong and secure. Whether used as a functional plant stand, display riser, or collected as folk art, this piece offers authentic farmhouse charm with real historical integrity.

Condition:
Good condition overall with wear consistent with age and use. Shows scuffing, finish wear, paint splatter, chips, nail holes, and minor cracks. Forged iron bracing is intact, and the structure is solid.
