Description

Navajo Yeibichai Rug – 30" x 42" Wool Weaving with Ceremonial Dancers

This finely handwoven Navajo Yeibichai rug features a procession of ceremonial dancers, each depicted in profile with bent limbs and adorned in traditional attire, including feathered headdresses, kilts, and moccasins. Woven entirely from wool, the rug measures 30 x 42 inches and is bordered by a bold black-and-white serrated design, framing the movement and rhythm of the figures within. The use of soft greys, earth tones, and rich reds lends harmony to the scene while showcasing the artisan’s skill and attention to cultural symbolism.

Yeibichai rugs are inspired by sacred healing ceremonies and depict the masked dancers who represent the Holy People. This example captures that tradition with exceptional clarity and balance, making it both a cultural artifact and a visually striking textile. Ideal for wall display, it adds depth and authenticity to New Mexico decor.

Condition:
In excellent, like-new condition with no visible damage. The weave is tight and even, colors remain vibrant with no bleeding, and all tassels are intact.
