Tonalá Ceramic Animal Figures – Signed "Mexico" & "KE"
Description:
A delightful set of three hand-crafted ceramic animal whistles, each showcasing the vibrant tradition of Mexican folk pottery. The set includes a stylized quail, a turtle, and a bird, all richly painted with floral and abstract designs. All pieces are signed “Mexico,” and the turtle is further marked “KE,” denoting the studio of Ken Edwards—an American ceramicist known for his influential work in Tonalá, Jalisco. These pieces combine whimsical forms with cultural artistry, serving as both decorative objects and functional whistles. Ideal for collectors of Mexican folk art or mid-century studio pottery.
Condition:
Good overall condition with wear appropriate to age. Visible finish wear and paint loss throughout, especially to high points, but no chips or cracks. Each piece remains structurally sound and displays well. See photos for detail.
