1890 St. Genevieve Church, Las Cruces – Historic Poster, 1991 Print
This unframed poster features a historic 1890 photograph of St. Genevieve Church in Las Cruces, New Mexico—once a central landmark of the city’s plaza. The image captures a lively community scene with townspeople, horse-drawn wagons, and the original gazebo, offering a rare visual record of Southwestern life in the late 19th century. Issued in 1991 for the Historical Society of New Mexico’s annual conference, the photo is reproduced from the Rio Grande Historical Collections at New Mexico State University. The church, completed in 1886 and demolished in 1967, is remembered here in one of its most iconic images. An excellent piece for collectors of New Mexico history or vintage regional photography.
